Join NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA) for a virtual conversation with Emmy, DGA, and PGA-nominated television executive producer and director Erin O’Malley. We will discuss Erin’s current work on the Disney+ series Goosebumps, American Born Chinese, and The Crossover, as well as her prolific career in television, which has included New Girl and Curb Your Enthusiasm, among many others. We will also discuss what it means for her to be an executive producer, her directing work, the television industry as a whole, and advice she has for emerging creatives.

About Erin O’Malley:
Erin O’Malley is five-time Emmy nominated producer for televsion and film, producing the critically acclaimed and award winning television series CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM and DA ALI G SHOW for HBO. She served several terms on the board of directors for The Producers Guild of America and recently received one of the guild’s highest honors, The Charles Fitzsimmons Award, the lifetime honorary membership award for exemplary service. In film, Erin produced the cult hit MANGO KISS, and teamed up with Jeff Garlin to produce the film he wrote, directed and starred in, I WANT SOMEONE TO EAT CHEESE WITH, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival to rave reviews.

About the moderator, Kristen Lopez:
Kristen Lopez joined TheWrap as Film Editor in 2022. She has been a pop culture essayist, critic, and editor whose articles have appeared at Variety, MTV, TCM, and Roger Ebert. She was previously the TV Editor for IndieWire where she was nominated for a SoCal Journalism Award and National Journalism Award by the LA Press Club. She is the author of “But Have You Read the Book: 52 Literary Gems That Inspired Our Favorite Films.” A California native, Kristen was raised in a small suburb near Sacramento and graduated with a Masters in English from CSU Sacramento. She is the creator of the classic film podcast, Ticklish Business.
