Join us for a virtual conversation with Adriana Martínez Barrón, Head of TV & Film for Stacey Abrams’ Sage Works Productions. We will discuss Adriana’s experience developing films and series, both for Sage Works and across the industry (including at CBS, Eva Longoria’s UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, and Netflix). She will also discuss her career, working with creatives, and advice she has for emerging filmmakers and producers.

About Adriana Martínez Barrón:

Adriana Martínez Barrón is currently Head of TV and Film for Stacey Abrams’ Sage Works Productions. Previously she was Vice President of Drama Series Development at CBS Entertainment. Prior to that, she served as Vice President of Film at Eva Longoria’s UnbeliEVAble Entertainment where she Executive Produced the film “Let’s Get Merried” starring Mishel Prada, Xosha Roquemore and Tahj Mowry for ViacomCBS and VH1.

Before that, she was simultaneously Manager, Latin American Original Series and Manager, Latin America Content Acquisitions at Netflix where she oversaw a large slate of films and TV series in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and Spain spanning over 25 titles launched to date, including “Madre Sólo Hay Dos”, “Luis Miguel: The Series”, “Nicky Jam: El Ganador”, and “Como Caído del Cielo”. Prior to joining Netflix, she worked as Creative Executive at Mexican Superstar Eugenio Derbez’s production company 3Pas Studios where she oversaw the feature “Cómo es Él” for Pantelion and the first season of “LOL: Laugh Out Loud Mexico” for Amazon.

She was a CBS diversity writing program mentor and an LFI Inclusion Fellowship mentor, as well as an WIF Advanced Executive Fellow in 2023. She has been involved with organizations and initiatives such as TV Academy, HRTS, JHRTS, WIF, Colour Entertainment, LATB, Latinx List, LALIFF, NWFLA, Hola México, WOCUnite throughout the years, in her quest to advance other women, Latinx and people of color.

A graduate of the Peter Stark Producing Program MFA at USC, Martínez Barrón got her start in the U.S. as a Development Assistant for Sofia Vergara’s Latin World Entertainment and was the assistant to a Co-Producer for ABC’s “Killer Women”. She began her career in her native Monterrey, Mexico working her way up on set.
