NewFilmmakers Los Angeles begins it’s 2020 season on January 11th with InFocus: Anti-Ageism, highlighting stories whose perspective offers us the world through the lens and experience of ageing characters.
InFocus: Anti-Ageism is the first shorts program of the night, a collection of stories exploring the wisdom, nostalgia, and inter-generational inspiration of its characters.
The evening continues with feature film Inside the Rain, the LA Premiere of Aaron Fisher’s authentic portrait of bipolar disorder and depression wrapped up in a wincingly funny rom-com-drama, anchored by off-kilter performances by a colorful ensemble cast.
The night concludes with a shorts program featuring an international blend of stories that explore topics including generational disconnection, love and sacrifice, the world of counterfeit bag merchants and more, including Oscar Shortlisted Live Action Short Film Nefta Football Club by Yves Piat.
