NFMLA Panel | Impact Storytelling in the Independent Animation Industry

August 02, 2024 01:00pm PDT - 02:30pm PDT

In partnership with Legends Animated, join NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA) for a conversation with the independent animation studio Neon Zoo. We will explore the intersection of animation, impact storytelling, and documentary with Neon Zoo and some of their favorite filmmakers and artists. Learn about what it’s like to carve your own path in the animation industry, and discover how these artists have built unique careers in (and out) of the industry, creating work focused on meaningful change.

Neon Zoo has worked with clients including Netflix, ACLU, PBS, The Atlantic, Conde Nast, Meow Wolf, and Starz. Their work has been part of projects selected for festivals including the Sundance Film Festival, Annecy Int’l Animation Film Festival, Tribeca X Awards, Cleveland Int’l Film Festival, and more.

Panelists include Eric Larson (Director, Animator, & Illustrator), Ana Mouyis (Director), Joumana Ismail (Animator & Illustrator), and Naghmeh Farzaneh (Director).

The conversation will be moderated by Drysen Carsten at Made by Things.
